What happened to Delighted

Delighted was a customer experience survey tool: NPS, CSAT, 5-star ratings, and smiley or emoji reactions, sent by email, on a website, in-app, by SMS, or at an in-person kiosk, with role-based dashboards and AI-assisted analysis of open-ended answers. Qualtrics acquired it in 2018 and ran it as a standalone, self-serve mid-market product for years, including as a common choice for teams running a one-off Sean Ellis "how would you feel if you could no longer use this" survey.

Qualtrics decided to retire it rather than keep investing, and pointed existing customers toward its enterprise XM Suite instead. The sunset ran on a fixed timeline: annual renewals stopped on July 1, 2025, monthly subscriptions stopped renewing after May 31, 2026, and the product shut down fully on June 30, 2026. Per Delighted's own sunset FAQ, dashboards went dark and historical survey data was deleted after that date, customers were responsible for exporting anything they wanted to keep. Why this matters even though Delighted is gone

Delighted was never built specifically to measure product-market fit. It was a general CX survey tool that happened to support the Sean Ellis question as one template among NPS, CSAT, and star ratings. If you used it that way, you were already doing the scoring, segmenting, and trend-tracking by hand, the shutdown just removed the collection layer you'd built the manual process around.

Delighted collected the answer. It never told you if 40% of your users were very disappointed, or whether that number was rising or falling.

PMFtracker is narrower on purpose: it runs the same Sean Ellis question, but calculates the score on the 40% rule automatically, filters to your engaged users, pulls your ICP straight from the very-disappointed segment, and keeps a trend line that becomes fundraising evidence. If PMF was the actual reason you were running a survey in Delighted, that's the piece PMFtracker replaces, permanently, not until the next sunset notice.

When PMFtracker isn't the right replacement

Be honest about what you actually need. If Delighted was your whole CX stack, not just PMF:

For those cases, look at a broader survey or CX platform. For the specific job of measuring and tracking product-market fit, that's what PMFtracker was built for from day one.

If you still have a Delighted export

Delighted's sunset FAQ put the responsibility on customers to export their data before the June 30, 2026 cutoff. If you did:

  1. Find your exported responses, especially any run of the "very disappointed / somewhat disappointed / not disappointed" question.
  2. Import them into PMFtracker to get a proper Sean Ellis score, ICP segment, and baseline trend point instead of a spreadsheet of raw answers.
  3. Run the survey in-product going forward, so you're not rebuilding this process from scratch the next time a vendor sunsets.

If you never exported and the data is gone, the honest next step is just to re-run the survey. See the exact Sean Ellis questions PMFtracker scores.

Frequently asked questions

Is Delighted shutting down?

Yes. Qualtrics, which acquired Delighted in 2018, sunset the standalone product on June 30, 2026. Annual renewals stopped on July 1, 2025, monthly subscriptions stopped renewing after May 31, 2026, and dashboards and historical data access ended at the final shutdown date.

What happened to Delighted's customer data?

According to Delighted's own sunset FAQ, customers were responsible for exporting their survey data before June 30, 2026. After that date, dashboards went dark and historical feedback data was deleted.

What did Delighted do?

Delighted was a customer experience survey tool for NPS, CSAT, 5-star ratings, and smiley/emoji reactions, sent by email, on a website, in-app, by SMS, or at an in-person kiosk, with dashboards and AI-assisted text analysis on open-ended answers.

Does PMFtracker replace Delighted?

Only for the product-market fit use case. If Delighted was your tool for a Sean Ellis PMF survey, PMFtracker replaces that: it runs the survey, calculates the 40% score automatically, segments your ICP, and tracks the trend. For general NPS or CSAT across a whole CX program, Qualtrics or a dedicated NPS tool is the closer fit.

What should I use instead of Delighted for a PMF survey?

Export any survey data you still have access to, then run the Sean Ellis "how would you feel if you could no longer use this product" question through a tool built for it. PMFtracker scores the responses automatically, filters to engaged users, and tracks the trend over time.
